Biography

Cameron Diaz, the stunning leggy beauty who have been rampaging the walks of Hollywood since quite long time now has succeeded in marking her own niche in the tough competitive line of acting. But this victory like any other too was not different and came only after much sweat and criticism on her part. Nevertheless, Cameron with her sparkling blue eyes and adorable face managed to win hearts across the whole world.

Born into the family of Emilio Diaz, a Cuban American oil company foreman and Billie, an import/export broker of English, German and Native American descent, Cameron arrived on this earth on the 30th of August, 1972, in San Diego, California.

It was during this time, the family moved up the coast and she along with her older sister Chimene went on to attend the Long Beach Polytechnic High School, which was famous for its football passion. With a rather rough atmosphere at school and parents insistence on taking them to their parties, she had a brush with adulthood at very young age only. One of the reasons for her maturing up so fast was the treatment by her parents’ friends to them as equals and not just kids.

By the time she reached her sweet sixteen stage she was already well informed and capable in handling herself around the Hollywood party circle. It was during one of these parties only that she crossed paths Jeff Dunas, a genuine high-class photographer with real connections who got her first assignment with Elite Modeling Agency.

After finishing her high school in 1990, she turned her heels towards Japan with a fellow model to fasten the reins of her modeling career. This point was followed by five successful years of travelling as an established model across fashion cities like Milan, Paris and Morocco. Incidentally it was the time she entered into a five long year relationship up with video director Carlo de la Torre.

Career in Movies

With a kitty overflowing with commercials for Calvin Klein, Levi's, and Coca-Cola as well as being on magazines such as Seventeen and Mademoiselle, Cameron was ready to don up her acting boots and with luck or good fortune got a starring role opposite Jim Carrey in the famous The Mask (1994).upon realizing the pressure of what all was at stake for the movie’s success, she found herself succumbing to it and during a martial arts training for movie Mortal Combat where she got hurt, she gave in and decided to return to independent movie making and modeling.

But the acting bug again bit her when she landed a role in The Last Supper (1996) followed by Feeling Minnesota and She The One. Cameron later revealed that she took up those parts just to gain an experience in working with fellow actors and brush up her acting skills.

My Best Friend’s Wedding alongside Julia Roberts, marked a milestone in her movie career and she very slyly maintained the success streak with movies like A Life Less Ordinary, There Something About Mary with then long time boyfriend, Matt Dillon.

Cameron also rose to fame as one of the three legendary Charlie’s Angels and went on to give a box office ringer in form of it’s sequel too. Been voted among the top 50 beautiful persons by the People’s magazine in 1998, this blonde is aint no dumb at her field.
